Charging problems are not always the port.

A worn cable, debris, a damaged connector, a battery that will not take a charge, liquid residue, or a board fault can look the same from the outside.

Start with charging Board-level charging damage

Try a known-good cable only if the phone is dry and the battery is not swollen. If the connector is bent or the phone got wet, stop experimenting and bring it in for evaluation.
